Safety
The safety of the players is our first priority. All players participating in any soccer event are required to wear shin guards and approved cleats. Proper hydration is another main concern. All players are reminded to drink plenty of fluids “before” arriving at the field for practice or matches, as well as during.
They should also bring fluids to the field to replenish their body fluids during and after the practice or match.
Medical Policy
All players are expected to have a registration form and medical information form on file with the MSC. The medical form provides the MSC staff with details of any significant medical conditions and provides important contact information in the case of an emergency. These forms are normally updated at least once per year.
Travel Policy
Young teams are not expected to travel out of the local area. Team coaches and managers will coordinate travel for teams and use this information to determine season costs. Division I and II teams normally travel more frequently and farther. See “links” for state office information.
Equipment
All players are expected to provide their own shin guards and soccer shoes. They are also expected to bring a ball to each practice and match. The teams normally provide other equipment such as first aid kit, cones and scrimmage vests. The MSC will normally have a budget to help defray the cost of these items.
Costs
The cost per player varies based on many factors, such as player age, level of play (Division 1, 2, 3, or 4), amount of travel, number of tournaments, and license/experience of their coach. Total fees normally include the cost of uniforms, coaching fee, referee fees, tournament fees, city field use fees, and state and club fees.
