Carlos Petersen - Director of Coaching - Madison Soccer ClubCoach Carlos Petersen is the Director of Coaching for Madison Soccer Club and is in his sixteenth year at the helm of the UAH Men's Soccer program.

Petersen holds an NSCAA National Diploma and the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, and is a USSF-A Licensed Coach. He has over 26 years experience in youth coaching and development. He has attended several international coaching clinics to learn the style of play for Brazil, Holland, Mexico, Jamaica and Morocco.

Under Petersen's tenure, his college teams have set several school records and have won a total of 3 regular season GSC titles and 2 GSC Tournament Titles. He is the only UAH Men's Soccer Coach to lead the Chargers to NCAA post-season play. He has also received GSC Coach of the Year honors on three occasions.

Coach Petersen is a native of Santiago, Chile. His playing experience has taken him to Germany, Chile and the US. He has unique understanding for the game of soccer in the United States, mixing his international experience with US style of play to give the American player a new approach to the American game of soccer.



Joel Truitt - Shockers 90 and The Academy

Joel Truiit was the goalkeeper and a four year varsity letter winner at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH).  He was a vice-captain during his 2005 soccer season.  Truiit coaches at Randolph High School where his Keepers have posted a less than .50 GAA average in 16 games.  He has coached at Huntsville High School where his team went to the state semi-finals. 
 
Truiit has been training goalkeepers for six years in the Huntsville area and Tucson, Arizona, where he grew up.  He owns an English FA Online Psychology for soccer level one and is CPR certified.

Cindy Reihl - Lady Shockers 96 White (U12G)
Minimize

Cindy Riehl has led the 96 White team since fall of 2006. She holds the "USSF- D" coaching license. She played four years for the University of Alabama in Huntsville as a starting defender. She is originally from Jefferson City, Tennessee where she started 4 years on High School Varsity and 2 years for the Krossfire Club Team of Oak Ridge, Tenn.

Kevin Langjahr - Shockers 97 (U11B)

Kevin Langjahr joined the Madison Soccer Club coaching staff in Fall 2007. Kevin has several years of head coaching experience, to include Monrovia AYSO. During the Fall 2006 season, Kevin’s U10B AYSO team ended the season with a 16-4 record and finished in 3rd place in the Area 5C Tournament. During the Spring 2007 season, Kevin formed and head coached the Monrovia AYSO U10B Select team that traveled to the Section 5 Tournament in Knoxville, TN which included teams from AL, TN, GA, North Carolina, and South Caroli na. The Monrovia Raptors went 6-0 and won the Section tournament, scoring 20 goals while only allowing 2. During that same season, the Raptors were very ambitious and competed in several club tournaments to include being a finalist in the VFC Friendship Cup, finalist in the HSC Spring Classic, and Champion in the HYSA Kick-It-Up Tournament.
 
In their inaugural season, the Shockers 97B team were finalists in the 2007 HSC Summer Classic and the 2007 Kicks Invitational.
 
Kevin holds a Brazilian-D coaching license from the Instituto Brasileiro De Futebol Brazilian Futebol (BFUT) Camp.

Ray Sellers - Shockers 98 (U10B)

Coach Ray Sellers joined the Madison Soccer Club coaching staff in the spring of 2006. He has served as coach for the MSC U9 and U10 Boys teams and assisted with the U11 and U12 Boys squads and the U11 Girls team. Coach Sellers has also coached U6 through U12 boys for the AYSO. Coach Sellers has over seven years experience coaching youth soccer. Coach Sellers has also served as player coach in men’s league soccer.

 
Coach Sellers twice attended the Instituto Brasileiro De Futebol Brazilian Futebol (BFUT) Camp and holds a Brazilian D coaching license. He has also completed both the USSF E and D courses and holds a current USSF D license. He also has taken coach, referee, and Safe Haven training through AYSO.
 
Coach Sellers’ coaching philosophy is to help each player to improve their individual skills while teaching the Brazilian approach to team soccer.
